That’s exactly why at ADIS AUTOMOTIVE GROUP we’ve embraced the idea of a shadow board.

For those unfamiliar with the concept, a shadow board brings together emerging talent from across the organisation to mirror the work of the senior leadership team. They challenge assumptions, offer fresh perspectives, and pressure test decisions before they become reality.

As we scale, the complexity of our decisions grows with us. New markets, customers, technologies, and operational demands require sharper thinking and broader viewpoints. As our co-founder and Executive Director, Marc Ammerlaan puts it, "having a shadow board helps us avoid the classic pitfalls of rapid growth, blind spots, and decisions made without the full picture".

Most importantly, a shadow board keeps us honest. It ensures that as we grow, we stay connected to the people who make this organisation work, the ones who see opportunities and risks long before they reach the boardroom.
